Nid yw'r Blaid Lafur yn deall pwysigrwydd diwylliant a threftadaeth ein cenedl. Mae hynny'n amlwg o ran y diffyg gweledigaeth sydd gan y Blaid honno o ran y sectorau hollbwysig hyn, a hefyd oherwydd y tanfuddsoddi sydd wedi bod dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf.
Cyn cael fy ethol i'r Senedd, fe fum yn gweithio i Amgueddfa Cymru am ddeuddeg mlynedd a bum yn aelod o Fwrdd Cymdeithas Amgueddfeydd Prydain gan gadeirio dau o'u prif bwyllgorau, y pwyllgor cod moeseg a hefyd pwyllgor y cenhedloedd.
Rwyf wedi bod yn eiriolwraig gadarn dros y sectorau hyn ers cael fy ethol, gan herio'r llywodraeth yn gyson a sicrhau mwy o fuddsoddiad ynddynt. Credaf yn gryf mai hawl dynol yw hawl pawb yng Nghymru i fwynhaua chymeryd rhan mewn cyfleoedd diwyllianol. Bydda'i llywodraeth Plaid Cymru yn unioni'r diffyg buddsoddi sydd wedi bod yn y sectorau hyn. Byddem hefyd yn sicrhau lle mwy amlwg i hanes Cymru yn ein system addysg.
The Labour Party does not understand the importance of our nation's culture and heritage. That is clear in terms of the lack of vision from Labour in terms of these crucial sectors, and also because of the underinvestment they have made over the past few years.
Before being elected to the Senedd, I worked for Amgueddfa Cymru for twelve years and was a member of the Board of the UK wide Museum's Association, chairing two of their main committees, the code of ethics committee and also the nations committee.
I have been a strong advocate for these sectors since being elected, constantly challenging the government and securing more investment in these sectors. I firmly believe that it is a human right for everyone in Wales to enjoy and take part in cultural opportunities. A Plaid Cymru government will rectify the lack of investment we have seen in these sectors. We would also ensure a more prominent place for Welsh history in our education system.
